KATHLEEN
HALLORAN

Kathleen Halloran is a multifaceted freelance guitarist based in Melbourne. Kathleen first picked up a guitar, at the age of 11, after drawing inspiration from the music of the 60’s including The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and James Taylor. Guitar lessons followed and she has been gigging since the age of 16, with beginnings in local cover bands and musical theatre shows. By 18, Kathleen was working as a full time musician and hasn’t looked back since. Kathleen is a passionate side-woman and has shared the stage/collaborated with artists Kate Ceberano, Brian Cadd, Sammy J, Jade MaCrae, Darren Middleton, Mahalia Barnes and Mahalia Barnes to name a few. She has also branched out into musical theatre, performing as a pit musician in professional productions namely School Of Rock and Bring It On and as deputy guitarist for productions such as Moulin Rouge and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
Whilst being a passionate rock/pop/blues guitarist, Kathleen’s musicality originates in the jazz genre, for which she studied at the Victorian College of the Arts. Kathleen also presents her original compositions as the 'Kathleen Halloran Trio' and regularly performs with various Australian jazz ensembles and artists, including Kate Ceberano and Andrea Keller and blues guitarist Jimi Hocking. Her trio featured at the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, Stonnington Jazz festival, the 2020 Melbourne International Jazz Festival and regularly sells out shows at the Paris Cat Jazz Club (in Melbourne).
